POTIENTIAL OF TOURISMS IN ZAMBIA

Zambia: It's time to see Africa Tourism Potential

Livingstone, -Government says it is time to turn the much talked about tourism potential in Africa into tangible benefits through increased tourism visitations.

Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources Minister, Michael Kaingu said time for talking was over, and people expected action that could benefit them from their respective governments.
Mr. Kaingu was speaking at the closing of a tourism regional seminar on Africa aimed at reinforcing the competitiveness of African destinations at Chrismar Hotel in Livingstone yesterday.
He urged tourism stakeholders to share the knowledge obtained from the workshop with all key players in the tourism industry that are expected to be engines of economic growth. He said the knowledge could also be used to provide memorable experiences to visitors each time they came as tourists.
And Mr. Kaingu called on all African countries to work together to harness the tourism resources they had so that they could be better placed to derive maximum benefits from the 2010 FIFA world cup soccer copetition to be held in South Africa.
Mr. Kaingu said the world cup and the All Africa games that Zambia would host in 2011 would provide opportunities for the continent to sale its unique tourism destinations to the wider world.
